The chocolates from Chocolaterie und Manufaktur Leysieffer are a particularly delicious tradition. In April 1909, Ulrich Leysieffer fulfilled his dream of opening his own confectionery café. Since then, handmade chocolates, jams, marzipan figurines and a variety of pastries have adorned the shop window on Krahnstraße in the historic centre of Osnabrück. Even though there are now Leysieffer branches in Berlin, Hamburg, Munich and even Sylt, the head office remains in Osnabrück. Tradition also plays a major role in the product range. The aim is not to offer more and more different products, but to turn good products into classics. One such classic, for example, is the 'Leysieffer Himmlische': a genuine secret recipe from the Leysieffer family dating back to 1950, about which we can only reveal so much: Inside the praline, which is coated in milk chocolate and a sugar crust, a truly 'heavenly' cream filling awaits you. Whether you buy a single "Himmlische" in the typical heart-shaped tin or a whole pack straight away: the chocolates make a lovely souvenir from Osnabrück. Café Leysieffer also serves breakfast - without chocolate and pralines, of course.
