ITCHY are and remain one of the most reliable and likeable constants in the punk rock universe: over 1000 concerts in over 20 different countries, from the smallest youth club to the biggest festival stages, 9 studio albums, four of them in the top 20, shows and tours with Bad Religion, Sum41 or Billy Talent and, even after 23 years of band history, still one of the best and most energetic live bands in the country. In the best DIY style, the three Swabians have built up their status as an indispensable rock institution over the years and deliver new ideas, new albums and, most importantly, a never-ending series of sweat-inducing concerts with completely escalating audiences and notorious entertainment value with impressive regularity. The fact that ITCHY are always about more than just music is shown by their numerous collaborations with well-known NGOs: extensive campaigns and stirring music videos in collaboration with Greenpeace, Amnesty International, Kein Bock auf Nazis or OceanCare are just as important to them as the thematization of critical and uncomfortable content in many of their song lyrics.
Founded during the punk explosion in Orange County, the band Zebrahead from Southern California is still active and is now opening a new chapter in their long career. "As long as people keep coming to the shows and listening, we'll keep touring the world and releasing music," says bassist Ben Osmundson. With almost 700,000 monthly listeners on Spotify, it's safe to say the world is still listening! Speaking of which, the band will be releasing a series of songs and videos leading up to a new EP titled I in November 2024, the follow-up to EPs III and II released in 2023. In addition to Osmundson, zebrahead includes singer/rapper Ali Tabatabaee, singer/guitarist Adrian Estrella, drummer Ed Udhus and guitarist Dan Palmer. zebrahead is truly a band of brothers who signed to Columbia Records early in their career when they were barely out of high school. Since their inception, they've experienced ups and downs, selling more than two million albums to date, surviving label changes, earning a Grammy nomination for a collaboration with Motorhead and touring non-stop around the globe. Taking matters into their own hands, they've taken a complete DIY approach for almost 10 years and love the freedom it gives them. "It's more fun when there's no boss," laughs Osmundson. He continues, "And quite honestly, that's the approach that's kept the band going. Because why do it if it's not fun?"
