The Klezmer Society with "Dos Klezmer Shifl"

They were here once before in 2016 with a fantastic performance, and now they're finally back! In addition to lively freylekhs dances and beautiful Yiddish melodies, the Klezmer Society plays slow "Zay Gezunt" pieces in this concert, wishing everyone good health. There will also be a rousing Satmar Waltz, known from the Netflix series "Unorthodox". "Kowed to Beregovski" honors one of the greatest klezmer pioneers, who traveled through the Ukraine during the Second World War to record almost forgotten melodies. Bert Vos wrote the Yiddish song "Mameloshn", which consists of affectionate Yiddish words that parents say to their children. The title track "Dos Klezmer Shifl" recalls the years 2020/2021, when the musicians came together to write new compositions despite the suspension of performances.

A melody will never sound the same twice with The Klezmer Society. The wealth of spontaneous variations and embellishments is inexhaustible. In the 15 years since the group was founded, the Klezmer Society has achieved great success at home and abroad. They play:
