The special concert in St. Katharinen: Johann Sebastian Bach's complete Christmas Oratorio - an extensive musical "birthday celebration" on December 1, 2024. The Bach Choir at St. Katharinen, renowned soloists and a top-class orchestra perform all six cantatas on historical instruments and in baroque style. Katharinenkantor Arne Hatje will conduct the concert.
In the traditional division, cantatas 1-3 will be performed in the first concert at 4.30 pm and cantatas 4-6 in the second concert at 7.30 pm.
Admission to this concert is free and there is a good reason for this: we want to make it possible for everyone to enjoy the wonderful cantatas 4-6 with free admission and free seating, especially in these turbulent and, for many, financially difficult times.
