The special concert in St. Katharinen: Johann Sebastian Bach's complete Christmas Oratorio - an extensive musical "birthday celebration" on December 1, 2024. The Bach Choir at St. Katharinen, renowned soloists and a top-class orchestra will perform all six cantatas on historical instruments and in baroque style. The choir will be conducted by Katharinenkantor Arne Hatje.
In the traditional division, cantatas 1-3 will be performed in the first concert at 4.30 pm and cantatas 4-6 in the second concert at 7.30 pm.
Tickets can only be purchased for the first concert-and this is not a flaw in the system, but has a good reason:
We want to make it possible for everyone to enjoy the wonderful cantatas 4-6 with free admission and free seating, especially in these turbulent and, for many, financially difficult times.

Hanna Zumsande (soprano), Juliane Sandberger (alto), Michael Connaire (tenor) and Sebastian Bluth (bass), Baroque Orchestra Sophie von der Pfalz on period instruments and the Bach Choir under the direction of Arne Hatje.
Tickets for this concert can also be purchased in advance from the Tourist Information Office in Bierstraße.
