Tango Sensations

The Carli Quartet has shown in recent years that the traditional tango and especially the tango nuevo are also ideally suited to the string quartet. Now a new facet is added with the bandoneon.
With the "Five Tango Sensations" by bandoneonist and composer Astor Piazzolla, the pioneering work for string quartet and bandoneon with its very special spectrum of timbres is on the program. Both as an ensemble and as soloists, the string instruments enter into a dialog with the bandoneon, creating a magical emotional and melancholy mood, in the spirit of the tango as "a sad thought that you can dance".
In addition to works by Astor Piazzolla, there will be compositions by Gustavo Beytelmann, José Carli and the Osnabrück composer and musician Peter Witte.

Carli Quartet:
The musicians of the Carli Quartet, Gerardo Miranda and Danylo Gertsev (violins) Marie Harders- Sauer (viola) and Stefan Mertin (cello) come from Argentina, Ukraine/Portugal and Germany. After studying music in various places, they now live in Osnabrück, where their enthusiasm for tango brought them together as a quartet.
Christian Gerber - Bandoneón focused early on the bandoneón and Argentine tango and tango nuevo.
He is today one of the most sought-after bandoneónists of the younger generation in Europe and has already shared the stage with numerous legends of the tango such as Alberto Podestá, Juan José Mosalini, Alfredo Marcucci, Raul Garello, Luis Stazo and others.
