The Fontain of Wishes, also known as Manneken Pis, was created in 2009 by the Spanish artist Fernando Sánchez Castillo. The figure was created as part of the Colossal art project to mark the 2,000th anniversary of the Battle of Varus.
The bronze figure depicts a policeman from a troop of hundreds with a rifle and shield, who is relieving himself.The sculpture stood on the Conrad Bäumer Bridge until 2012 and then moved to the Çanakkale Bridge behind the Lengermann and Trieschmann department stores', near Haarmannsbrunnen. 2024 saw the Fountain of Wishes restored by the Osnabrück, Springbrunnen damals und heute initiative.
