The Derbyplatz fountain, built in 1978 by the former Osnabrück civil engineering department, is located between the Alte Posthalterei restaurant and the Nikolaiort multi-storey car park.
It consists of a round, domed and paved basin reminiscent of the brim of a hat. Inside the basin, twelve fountains spray towards the centre of the basin.
The fountains were originally much higher, so that they met in the centre of the basin.
