Unconscious biases, i.e. unconscious
prejudices, influence
our thinking, our decisions
and our behavior,
without us being consciously
aware of it. They arise
through experience, cultural
prejudices and social
stereotypes. These prejudices
often have a subtle effect, but they influence
our perception
of people in terms of
gender, origin, age, religion
or other characteristics and
can lead to unequal opportunities,
discrimination and limited
diversity.
Unconscious bias training
helps to recognize
our own patterns of thought and
behaviour and to deal with them
more consciously. The aim is to critically reflect on and
reduce prejudices,
promote diversity and
create a more equitable and inclusive
environment - whether
in everyday working life, in educational institutions
or in the personal
environment.
