2025 marks the 80th anniversary of the end of the darkest chapter in German psychiatry. The National Socialists' "euthanasia" programme was responsible for the deaths of at least 250,000 mentally ill people and yet is only the low point in a tradition of exclusion and oppression of marginalized groups. Today, mental health is talked about openly, but mentally ill people are still stigmatized and pushed to the margins of society. With the help of theatre-maker Fabian Mauderer, a group of people with and without experience of psychiatry spent two months exploring the methods of Theatre of the Oppressed, which aims to break out of everyday constraints and raise awareness of social problems. The result was a playful, aesthetic and theatrical dialog between people. The result is an interactive performance tour that tells a story of exclusion and isolation, but also of solidarity and community.
