An adventurous robber story about justice, respect, friendship and love

"The night Ronja was born, thunder rolled over the mountains." Ronja is the daughter of the robber chief Mattis. She grows up in Mattisburg Castle in Mattiswald, surrounded by a gang of robbers. Birk is the son of Mattis' arch-enemy Borka, the leader of the dangerous Borka robbers, who one day decide to lay siege to the uninhabited part of Mattis Castle. Ronja is initially not at all happy with the new neighbors, but gradually makes friends with Birk, much to the annoyance of her hostile parents. When they can no longer bear the quarrel between their families, Ronja and Birk flee into the forest, where they experience exciting adventures.

An adventurous robber story about justice, respect, friendship and love.
