We have combined our strengths as a natural history museum, planetarium and environmental education center in our new permanent exhibition, which will open in 2023. The result is a journey through time: the exhibition shows the development of life on 1,800 square meters - from the birth of our planet to urban models of the future.
Exciting exploration tour
Guests discover a reconstructed primeval forest from the Carboniferous period, in which augmented reality brings extinct animals back to life. They meet golden jackals and wolves from the Osnabrück region, learn how trees communicate with each other via the mushroom telephone and go on an exploration tour through a city of the future.
Mix of exhibits, games and technology
The exhibition offers an exciting mix of unique exhibits such as a giant fossilized seal tree root, modern technology such as a 180-degree cinema and interactive stations such as a whispering floor.
Topics of the present
Evolution, biodiversity and climate change are some of the most pressing issues of our time. The exhibition addresses these topics in five areas - astronomy, water, forest, open land and urban life - and shows these topics from different perspectives. It explains how the world is interconnected, what influence humans have on it and how we can protect it.
