The affinity of anti-modernism to völkisch nationalism is not a new phenomenon, but it is hardly discussed today. The mass protests of lateral thinkers, Reichsbewegten and right-wing extremists seem to be over. However, the social class with anti-modern ideas that feeds off them is growing, and has also become younger and more feminized - not only in Germany, but throughout Europe.
