Murdered, buried, covered in roses
In 1984, schoolgirl Johanna Eckstein has an experience that will determine the rest of her life: She witnesses the discovery of a body. A bizarre scene: the dead body was buried in a field, with a grave site professionally planted with roses and magic snow.
31 years later, Johanna Eckstein is First Chief Detective Inspector at the Berlin State Office of Criminal Investigation. Unhappy experiences in her private life prompt her to return to her home in Münsterland and temporarily move back in with her parents. From then on, she works for the Münster police department.
An eerie déjà vu awaits her: as if the perpetrator had just been waiting for her to return, another murder occurs in her home town of Emsfeld and with the same characteristics as when Johanna decided to join the police after leaving school. And now she is the investigator in charge. - Could the crime actually be linked to her?
Fritzi Jäger is the open pseudonym of author Katrin Jäger. She has written a series of Münsterland crime novels with journalist Viktoria Latell as the main character, as well as the psychological thriller "Danish Twilight". With her new crime novel "The Flower Daughter", she introduces a new heroine and once again turns a Münsterland community into a crime scene. Familiar territory for Katrin Jäger. She has collected her excursion tips in the non-fiction books "52 kleine & große Eskapaden im Münsterland" and "Radelzeit im Münsterland" (Dumont).
The "Literaturfenster Dissen" is sponsored by the Landschaftsverband Osnabrücker Land with funds from the Lower Saxony Ministry of Science and Culture and the Osnabrück District Cultural Office.
