About the concert
During World Youth Day 2005, young people from the San Nicolas y San Judas parish in Havana, Cuba, and our Christus König parish met. During the discussions, the difficult living conditions in Cuba became clear to us. It quickly became clear that we wanted to help. So the idea of a concert to benefit our newly acquired Cuban friends was born.

Since the debut event in 2008, the benefit concert has now been held annually. Each time, different bands have attracted more and more enthusiastic visitors with their music.

Since 2016, our concert weekend has been held under the name "Haste Open Air". The name has changed - but the background has not. We continue to donate to our partner community and to a regional social institution.

Cuba
Our partner community San Nicolás y San Judas in Havana has been delighted with the proceeds from our annual "Concert for Cuba" benefit concert since 2008 and "Haste Open Air" since 2016. 100% of the net proceeds are donated, 75% of which always ends up in Cuba.

The community often thanks us by letter - it's nice to hear that the money goes where it is obviously needed and that our commitment can even make a difference on the other side of the world!
