FADO-ABEND mit der Fado Group Gerações

On Saturday, September 20, the Office for Peace Culture of the City of Osnabrück invites you to a rousing Fado evening at the Lutherhaus cultural center, Jahnstraße 1, in Osnabrück from 8 pm! Fado - Portuguese world-weariness poured into sound, a soul-searching tale of love, longing and devotion, loss and grief. This is exactly what the musicians from Portugal are trying to convey on this special evening in Osnabrück.
'Gerações' from North Rhine-Westphalia leaves no doubt that they are fully committed to fado and have been delighting audiences with the traditional sounds of their homeland since 1998. 'Gerações' translates as "generations" and is intended as an allusion to the different age groups that exist in this band.
In addition to the living voice of fado in Germany, Suzana Pais, the musicians João Luis Nogueira Pinto and Ruben Claro accompany the evening on classical guitar and acoustic bass respectively. The group is completed by Ivo Guedes, who has already demonstrated his virtuosity on the Portuguese guitar with greats such as Ana Lains, Filipa Sousa, Telmo Pires, Mara Pedro and Teresa Tapadas.
The band's diverse repertoire ranges from traditional pieces by the great Fado Queen Amália Rodrigues, to timeless works by Carlos do Carmo, to modern songs by Mariza, Ana Moura and Carminho. Gerações enchants the audience with songs such as 'Uma casa portuguesa', 'Lisboa menina e moça' and 'Desfado' and leads them through the rich history of fado.
