An offer as part of the "International Weeks against Racism"
Between 1941 and 1945, Soviet prisoners of war were used for forced labor in the Piesberg quarry and many other places in the Osnabrück region. Among other places, they were housed in the Haseschacht building, the main building of today's Museum Industriekultur Osnabrück. With the project "...the trail taken: Soviet prisoners of war on the Piesberg in Osnabrück", a hitherto dark spot in the history of the Piesberg was brought to light in 2004 in cooperation with pupils from the Thomas Morus School under the direction of Felix Trentmann. The tour picks up the trail again and provides insights into the fates of the prisoners of war and forced laborers - the few remaining places of remembrance are visited around the Haseschacht building.
