"Für:Sorge" by Thomas Perle addresses the precarious conditions of 24-hour care, especially for care migrants from Romania. The play sheds light on the unregulated working conditions, the emotional strain and the loneliness of those affected. The welfare state, whose core tasks actually include providing care for people, has long been unable to meet demand. Care itself is increasingly becoming an emergency patient, and the social and legal framework conditions of care work are reflected in a multilingual production. Personal stories from relatives and carers highlight the need to address the challenges of care work. The alarming hourly wage of two to three euros illustrates the urgency of an issue that concerns everyone.
The multilingual theater evening by baldanders theaterkollektiv takes a look at the social, institutional and legal framework conditions of professional and informal care work and examines their effects on the individual fates from the perspective of Romanian caregivers, care patients and those who are confronted with the care of their parents' old age.
