Barrack 35 in Osnabrück's Landwehr district is a memorial to the victims of National Socialism. Located on the site of one of Osnabrück's largest development areas, the barrack is a reminder of the former prisoner of war camp. After the Balkan campaign in 1941, up to 6000 officers from the former Yugoslavia were interned here. Of the predominantly Serbian officers, a significant number were Jewish. In a documentary theater project, Theater Osnabrück and director Demjan Duran embark on a theatrical search for clues. How did people live there? What connections are there with their Serbian fellow citizens today? The project is being developed in close cooperation with the Barrack 35 Association and the descendants of the former prisoners. The production takes place as part of the contemporary theater festival "Spieltriebe 10 - Mosaik Balkan".
