The 44th Congress of the German Society for Transactional Analysis (DGTA) will focus on one of the most important social issues of our time: "The need for encounters and relationships". Strong bonds are essential for psychological well-being and peaceful coexistence. From May 23 to 25, 2025, participants will discuss the role of transactional analysis in promoting tolerance and respect in society in the Osnabrück Hall.
The theme of this year's DGTA Congress "Attachment makes you strong: Need - Encounter - Relationship" focuses on key topics of transactional analysis (TA). TA supports people in developing their personality.
"Transactional analysis understands a lot about supporting people with all their early and later attachments, attachment styles and attachment processing. In times of loneliness and isolation, of singularization and selfishness, this is no easy path! It is no longer just about private personal fulfillment. Only together, in connections between people - in the social sphere - can the sought-after value of life arise," explains Christine Behrens, Chairwoman of the DGTA.
Approaching each other and respecting differences
Transactional analysis deals with the effects of rejection and the need to belong and helps to achieve relationships through encounters. What are the effects of the feeling of non-attachment, of being rejected? This question posed by the congress is also essential for migrant sections of the population. It is based on the conviction that discrimination leaves deep traces - not only in the lives of those affected, but also in the cohesion of society as a whole. In Osnabrück, the city of peace and understanding, the DGTA Congress makes a contribution to peaceful coexistence and shows that peace and understanding are possible when people are willing to approach each other and respect differences. "The step from 'I-thinking' to 'we-thinking' is probably the most central topic of our time," says Behrens, summarizing the decision for the motto "Bonding makes you strong".
The three-day event offers 90 workshops, lectures and discussion panels. Visitors can also look forward to the "AI with heart and mind" barcamp and keynote speeches by Dr. phil. Araththy Logeswaran "Discrimination as a divisive factor" and by Prof. Dr. Christiane Burbach and P. Tilman Kingreen on the importance of attachment in counseling.
The DGTA Congress is aimed at both professionals and interested parties who are not yet familiar with the transactional analysis approach and would like to learn more.
