Discover, touch, understand - right at the beginning of the permanent exhibition, visitors can travel through individual phases of urban development with the help of light projections. Interactive elements on the exhibition tour make it possible to experience connections using different media. The Peace of Westphalia, which characterised Osnabrück as a city of peace, takes centre stage in the form of an animated graphic novel. Young visitors can develop their own perspective in a children's trail. And on the upper floor, the digital city laboratory challenges visitors to design their own city model at play and work tables using digital technology - the "Osnabrück of tomorrow".
The Museum of Cultural History also houses the Gustav Stüve Collection with masters from the 16th to 19th centuries.
A considerable collection of graphic works by Albrecht Dürer (1471 - 1528) can be found on the upper floor of the museum. This collection has been on permanent display in Osnabrück since 1996 and was put together by the Osnabrück antiquarian bookseller Dr Konrad Liebmann.
