There are four theaters in Osnabrück - each with its own focus in its program. Theater Osnabrück is the largest theater with two venues (Theater am Dom and Emma Theater an der Lotter Straße). The five divisions include opera, operetta, musicals, dance, drama, children's and youth theater, and concerts. Ulrich Mokrusch is the artistic director, Andreas Hotz is the general music director, and Matthias Köhn is the commercial director.
The puppet theater is one of the few puppet theaters in Germany with its own house. The Probebühne and the Erste unordentliche Zimmertheater are amateur theaters that also have a permanent place in Osnabrück's cultural life. And then there are changing venues - also in the countryside and in unusual places!
