Literature

Read, listen & watch

For a long time, literature was equated with "reading" - something that was only done alone and preferably in absolute silence. This was also the case when the city library was founded in Osnabrück in 1869. Silence is still the order of the day in libraries, but the Osnabrück City Library is a meeting place. Book bus and reading garden, lending of all kinds of media and many events and hands-on activities are all part of this - in co-operation with the West Lower Saxony Literature Office.

Even literary events are often no longer just "readings with a glass of water", but also frame the work presented with music, theatre, dinner or other events. The reading authors are delighted!
