The plants speak:Can you hear that? Our leaves in the wind, the crackling of our branches, the creaking when our roots move. It ripples, hums, rustles. You breathe in - you breathe out. Oh, you think, how beautiful nature is.
But we are not. We are not "nature" - no more than you are. Because you find us in the garden and this garden is our theater. All of us have a task here, a place assigned to us. We represent, perform, play. And when you look at us and think "nature", we feel a little tinge of pride. We have done everything right, you have recognized us for what we are supposed to be. You have accepted our claim.
You walk past us, you stop, you look. Sometimes, for a brief moment, we have the feeling that we - you and we - are aware of each other. Meeting each other without contempt and without shame and realizing that we live together in the same world. We are part of this presence, part of this system.
Now a search begins. A shared search for empathy for beings outside your species and for the collective consciousness that has been systematically trained out of us all. You have practiced noticing our presence and taking it seriously. You want to rediscover the efficient system of this world, the system of interconnectedness. A radical attempt to rethink our relationship with each other.
We are ready. You know where to find us.
The Stadtensemble Generationen in cooperation with "40 Jahre Botanischer Garten", in networking with Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences, with author Sophie Schollek and other thinkers who always understand questions of authorship as collective work.
