Film, facts and discussion with Axel Milberg, Benjamin Sadler and Daniel Harrich

A gripping film, big names and a highly topical subject: Marketing Osnabrück GmbH is bringing an extraordinary cinema event to the city on Thursday, November 27 at 7:30 pm with the investigative ARD feature film "Verschollen". The film will be shown in the Hall of Fame - Kino de Luxe, just a few days after its presentation at the COP30 World Climate Conference in Brazil. This makes the event the first public screening in Germany following the film team's international appearance - an evening that combines cinematic art, climate policy and social responsibility. Following the screening, award-winning director Daniel Harrich, actors Axel Milberg and Benjamin Sadler, scientific advisors and other guests will be available for a discussion with the audience. The evening will be hosted by Marie Nasemann, actress, podcaster ("Family Feelings") and winner of the Environmental Media Award. The cinema event is an invitation to dialog. The combination of feature film and discussion aims to build bridges - between information and emotion, science and everyday life, global contexts and personal attitudes.

The trill
Klemens Stadler (Axel Milberg) is alarmed by a call for help from Brazil. It comes from his son Jan, an environmental scientist working on a climate protection project in the Brazilian forests. Because he can't get anywhere from Germany, Klemens travels to Brazil himself to look for his son. In Brazil itself, Jan's colleagues at TreePlanet seem surprisingly unconcerned. The company, which certifies reforestation projects, is in the middle of an ambitious project that is not without its opponents. The new forests require a huge amount of land: entire villages are being forcibly expropriated and indigenous people driven from their homes. During his research, Klemens also gets to know the victims of the project. The former engineer is confronted with more and more inconsistencies in the supposedly exemplary sustainability projects. As he encounters corruption and violence, he has to ask himself what role his son plays in this opaque web - and whether he will find him alive. Klemens Stadler encounters a web of power, lies and greed - and the question of what credibility means in the age of climate change. Daniel Harrich's investigative research forms the basis for the feature film, which can be found in the ARD media library from November 12, 2025. It also led to the documentary "Verschollen - Die Doku", which shows the real background to the film: the global trade in CO₂ certificates, the effects of international reforestation projects and the consequences for people, nature and the climate. "Lost" was produced as part of ARD's "Forest" focus on the COP30 World Climate Conference. The production team was invited by the Federal Ministry for the Environment to Belém (Brazil) to present the film and documentary to an international audience of experts.
