On two Saturdays, November 8 and 22, the city's music and art school will be providing special sounds at the Museum am Schölerberg (Klaus-Strick-Weg 10). In keeping with the "Rock Fossils" exhibition - in which fossils named after famous bands such as the Rolling Stones, the Beatles, AC/DC or David Bowie are on display - pupils from the music and art school will be presenting their own arrangements of well-known songs by these musicians.
On Saturday, November 8, the motto is "quiet?". Here, otherwise more classical instruments will not only be heard with rock/pop numbers, but will also form unusual ensembles. Among others, clarinets play with strings, cor anglais with percussion, cello with marimba and timpani and four children on a piano. From 3 pm to 6 pm, visitors will have the opportunity to experience a special museum visit with many musical highlights. Two additional guided tours will be offered at 3 pm.
On Saturday, November 22, the motto is: "loud!". Bands and ensembles from the music and art school will present special arrangements from the history of rock, pop and jazz on two stages. Some bands and ensembles have come together especially for this event and play either their own creations or arrangements from the "Rock Fossils" genre. Between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m., visitors can move freely between the two stages in the museum during their visit.
