Pop Jazz Latin Polka Folk Chansons

It would come as no surprise if the term "False Italians" were to appear in the lexicon at some point: Ombre di Luci have been causing a stir in the acoustic music industry since 1997 - five Germans who could well be from Siena. In reality, the quintet is based in Osnabrück - a city that the travel magazine "Merian" describes as having a marketplace with Mediterranean charm. It was precisely there, in a small pizzeria, that Vino e Pasta came up with the spontaneous idea of presenting Canzone italiane in a completely new way.
Ombre di Luci present their songs, all of which they have composed themselves, with humor, light irony and always full of passion. Even if you don't understand Italian, singer, pianist and bandleader Marcus Tackenberg's entertaining commentary will send you on a mental journey to the land of lemons, pizza and Mafiosi. The musical framework is completed by Karl Snelting on drums, Ralf Quermann on guitar, bass and mandolin, Raphael Rahe on cello, bass and guitar and Markus Preckwinkel on tuba and trombone.
No eye remains dry, no foot still, because the mostly lively songs encourage clapping, stomping and dancing. The "Ombres" leave such a lasting impression with their popjazzlatinpolkafolkchansons that even true Italians are impressed. The band's friends include Sicilian songwriters Pippo Pollina and Etta Scollo as well as Palermo's former mayor Leoluca Orlando and various German-Italian societies in Germany. Of course, most of the lyrics are also penned by real Italians such as the Milanese poet and bartender
