They are the first to learn of the birth of Jesus and are brave enough to make their way to the manger at night: the shepherds. The biblical text does not reveal much about them. They are watching over their sheep when an angel comes to them and announces the good news. They then become not only the first witnesses of Christ's birth, but also the basic personnel of every nativity scene. In cooperation with the Association of Friends of Nativity Scenes, the Diocesan Museum is showing a series of nativity scenes that cover the entire spectrum of depictions of shepherds. Go in search of exciting details and the mystery of the shepherds!
