The "Festive Advent" - a series of concerts on Advent Sundays - has been a firm musical fixture at St. Marien for many years. The musical program is put together by the parish's own music groups and ensembles. Once again this year, the trombone choir (1st Advent), motet choir (2nd Advent), children's choir and youth choir (3rd Advent) and KMD Carsten Zündorf on the organ (4th Advent) invite you to an hour of pre-Christmas music-making and singing together at 5.00 pm.
The trombone choir will open the "Festive Advent" under the direction of Michiko Sugizaki with cheerful brass music from several centuries. The Moth Choir will perform a romantic Christmas oratorio for choir, organ and tenor under the direction of Jan Kampmeier. The program of the children's choir and the youth choir includes Advent and Christmas carol settings from Europe. The choir will be conducted by regional cantor Majka Wiechelt. KMD Carsten Zündorf takes a first look at the new hymnal (release: 2027) and invites you to get to know and sing along to new Advent hymns.
