The title "Time Travel - From the Big Bang to Man" announces what the viewer can expect: Not only a look into space, but also into times gone by. Young and old viewers alike embark on a unique journey through space and time.

After a brief introduction, the journey through time begins at the beginning of the universe, the Big Bang, and continues through the birth of the first stars and the Milky Way to the formation of the sun and its planets, including the Earth.

After the formation of the primordial Earth, viewers experience how the moon was created in a violent collision with another protoplanet. A dive into the oceans of the early Earth then leads to the presumed site of the origin of life: a hydrothermal spring, known as the "white smoker", at the bottom of the deep sea. The journey through time continues via the development of single-celled organisms to the first strange animals in the Cambrian period and the first large forests on land in the Carboniferous period.
