From October 18 to November 15, the Museum am Schölerberg is presenting the traveling exhibition "BananaRama - A research trip to the banana". The interactive exhibition shows why the plantain is indispensable for millions of people and what role agricultural research plays in global food security.
From the laboratory to the field - in five modules, visitors can discover how the plantain in particular is becoming a key crop for agricultural research. Interactive elements and selected exhibits shed light on the banana as a staple food and explain how drones help with banana cultivation, why biodiversity is so important and what makes banana cultivation difficult.
The exhibition is based on the work of the Global Research Partnership for a Food Secure Future (CGIAR) and was realized by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). "BananaRama" can be visited during the museum's opening hours. The visit is included in the regular admission price.
